Salman Khan: Man with Golden Heart!

He is a Dabangg! He is a Bodyguard! He is an apple of everyone’s eyes! He is non-other than sturdy Salman Khan aka Sallu of Bollywood.

Often connoted as B-Town’s bad boy for his deeds in past, but Salman Khan has emerged as the real ‘people’s champ’ for the charity, he has nurtured lately.

Salman was born in a Muslim family. He is the eldest son of distinguished screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Salma Khan (maiden name Sushila Charak).

His stepmother Helen is a famous yesteryear Bollywood actress, who has co-starred with him in Khamoshi: The Musical (1996) and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). He has two brothers, Arbaaz Khan (married to actress Malaika Arora Khan) and Sohail Khan, and two sisters, Alvira and Arpita. Alvira is married to actor/director Atul Agnihotri.

His besties constitutes the names of Sanjay Dutt, Sushmita Sen and Aamir Khan.

Born on December 27, 1965 Salman Khan started his acting carrier in 1988 by doing a supporting role in the movie Biwi Ho To Aisi. Then he came up with his romantic hit Maine Pyar Kiya. From there he became the heart-throb of Indian cinema!

He showed his terrific performance in Saajan (1991), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Khamoshi: The Musical (1996), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998).

His signature styles include his dancing, smile and removing shirt!

Salman has his mannequin affixed in Madame Tussaud’s Museum in England along with Kareena Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

He is the first Bollywood Star to work in the Hollywood film industry and his debut film was Marigold: An Adventure In India.

Salman’s transitions can be receptive, vulnerable, funny, aggressive and charming as his role demands. Khan is a dedicated bodybuilder, passionate swimmer and an excellent painter.

Not only is he a health freak, he also loves to initiate people who aren’t as health-conscious as himself into workouts. He forced co-star Anil Kapoor to work out at the gymnasium every day. While Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan are his early trainees!

As per the recent reports, he has decided to produce films, the profits of which would be diverted towards charity. The actor is planning to produce movies under the banner of his NGO - `Being Human`.

Interestingly, his philanthropic ways facilitated the release of 400 inmates recently, who had served their sentence but were locked up due to poverty.

This macho hunk is best known for his robust body and infamous affairs.

He was voted 7th best-looking man in the world by People Magazine! His favorite actor and idol is Sylvester Stallone. Despite being romantically linked with several actresses and having relationships with ex-girlfriends Aishwarya Rai, Somy Ali, Sangeeta Bijlani and Katrina Kaif, Khan is frequently featured by Indian media as Bollywood`s most eligible bachelor.

Quote by Salman: For me acting, comes straight from the heart. In that sense I don't act at all. I think that to feel the character's pain I have to be myself. Somewhere audiences see that.
